Blessing Gown
Since Kate realized they had Stake Conference the first of May, we snagged their blessing date. Which means to all who may have known, I just don't think I'll get the blessing dress done in time. I haven't even gotten the lace yet (it has to be just right, which means I drive to Orem which hasn't happened, or get it online which hasn't happened either. I went to Babinski today and saw a darling simple on with bonnets on sale for $75, which is a steal compared to my fabric and lace and time, but none of the true heirloom "my mom made this" quality. Another I love is $155, with awesome smocking (my smocking is at least done!) and a darling bonnet, etc. And I worry that my seamstress skills just aren't up to the task and although Penelope will wear the dress for like an hour, I don't want it to be shabby for posterity. AK ok'd the purchase of a dress, but I am still grappling...or I can borrow Kate's (Amanda's). What do you think? Does it really matter? Will she really care (I know not now, but in 25 years!)?

We would be so proud to have Penelope Jane wear Amanda Jane's dress! Love, Katie
ooo, that's a tough one. i say, if it's gonna kill you to get yours done, then let it go and buy one. and plan on making her a dress for her baptism. :)
Good idea by Leslie. Or is there someone that you can hire to finish it? I love that Isabel wore the same dress as Mia. It was like $80, so I think it is good to have one for your own. Or something:)
With the thumbs up from your DH, I'd say run, don't walk, to the store. You probably don't need the stress of finishing the dress you've started, although it sounds amazing!!! It would be nice to have your own for progeny!!! Keep us posted! Love ya!!!
For you consideration, you are most welcomed to put Penelope in the blessing dress her greatgrandma bought for our family blessings. I can bring it up in a couple weeks for you to look at if you wish. Love to all and I'm so excited to get up there and love on all of you!!
