Last Day of School (or Skewel for O)

First Day of School, 2007-2008

Yesterday (2nd to last day of school)

Today is the last day of school. Oh dear. I think we are all in a panic. First, it is raining and cold, so no sunny swimming day in sight. Second, I still don't have the Summer Bridge books yet (note to take a trip to Tutoring Toy and hope they still have a few). Third, I don't have a biking schedule yet and the kids aren't signed up for any camps. H wants to be in First Grade with Ms. L forever! O is claiming the same thing (for now, but it's the first I've heard of that - he can't wait to be able to say "I'm in Kindergarten!). And P won't know what to do with all of the attention. Should I do what Ms. L is doing today and unplugging the T.V. or honestly will I go insane? What are your plans for the summer, and can we join you?

We had our first baseball games last night. O plays for the Indians, and H for the Blue Rays. I didn't get to see O play, but I think there was a lot of horsing around with Daniel going on, and a few good hits (tee ball). H looks like a pro. I could tell he's seen a few spring training games, and he's got quite a hit (coach pitch) and had 2 great grounder pick ups and throws and we'll be working on fly balls. They did awesome for the first game, and I got to be first base coach, since they were running all over the place having no clue where and if to go next! By the "2nd inning" they got it down. Yeah for something scheduled!

It seems like just yesterday I was writing a post about this? what am i going to do w/my kids all summer and how am i going to get them to work? My how time flies. Here I am again..one year later and still having the same issues. I was hoping they would mature so much over the year that I wouldn't have to deal w/it again. But guess what? They haven't matured yet. I am sure I will probably still be saying this when they're in their 30's. All I can say is STICK TO A SCHEDULE! That's my goal for the summer.

Adorable! Can we see a game when we are there?

Schedule is what I am trying this summer. Just regular things each week with some fun extras...library, swimming, the beach (Merr & I are splitting the cost of a NB parking pass...nice! Come and use it:)), classes, picnics, etc. I got the Summer Bridge books. If they don't have them, check out overstock.com. They had some for cheaper.

We could buy 2 tickets on Greyhound and send them north (Montana or Canada come to mind) to learn survival skills. btw, H's team is not sponsored by Sony. They are just the Rays (not Blue Rays).

Oh, how I'd love to watch them play ball! P's skirt is too cute! Edible legs!

What a great narrative of the game...you put me there!! Thanks, love and remember some down, veg time helps kiddos think of things to do on their own also. Get those creative juices going...or not. You never know.

I love the glasses! Soo much fun! It's going to be a great summer. Enjoy baseball, we loved it! I think I need to unplug the TV, however it does make a great reward.

Things to do...geocaching! We seriously should do it together. Danny is obsessed, he does it every chance he gets. You guys should come over and play in our sandbox, it's huge. P would probably eat the sand though. :) Also, going to get some cheap pool to set up so we don't get the diarrea bug. Yuck!
