4th of July Re-Cap

I've been on some fun bikes/runs/workouts this week of the 4th. We did the Millcreek parade on the fourth. We decorated Holden's bike and the wagon, which Owen rode in, and threw out pixie sticks and sparklers (last minute ditch effort to have something! We walked with the Wixoms until we were nearly at the end and had run out of candy and saw the Creers and bunked with them. It was great! Then we hit the Wixoms for a great sourdough pancake/bacon bbq'd breakfast. The we hit the sacks to nap. We were invited to buffet and fireworks at the SLCC by the Taylors, so we wanted to last until at least firework time (at the Wright party on Saturday night, we didn't last past 8, if that!). So we insisted on everyone napping, even Holden. The boys had a blast with Sophie & Haley and loved seeing another baby Owen (JB's sister Ashley's) and meeting new friends playing on the greens and sand of the golf course. We had a great time, taking our time with the tasty buffet, and finally the amazing dessert buffet. The fireworks were right on top of us, which was freaky for Holden, but Owen had an absolute blast and didn't want them to end. After about $50+ of fireworks at home to go, we finally and reluctantly headed home to bed. The rest of the week I spent trying to work off the additional calories of my haagen-daz tirmisu, whip cream, and chocolate sauce self-made sundae, scallops, and sppetizers galore. The boys and I finally made it up to Wasatch with the bike and trailer this week. People passing us (usually on bikes, but occassionally on the steeps it could be anybody walking) love to hear Holden talking as loud as can be at 8am saturday morning, or the boys raising their arms as if on a roller coaster, and are awed at the strength of pulling 90 pounss, which I would brag a little, until I found out yesterday that the trailer weighs at least 20 pounds, so 110 pounds! Yesterday I only had Holden, so it was almost a breeze. We made it to the zoo and saw the goats at the top of the fence 'waking up'. I can't wait to go biking alone, although it is totally lacking in entertainment, it will be much easier! And to the Bunches - we are officially shopping for our own Burley - we owe you big time!
