Penelope's Blessing

Today was such a great celebration of our darling Penelope. I am dying to share our darling pictures, but unfortunately we were all out of batteries and so relied on others to gracefully share their photos of our event. To start, I was a bit stressed this morning, but after a quick prayer with my darling Andy, it was all happy tears from there. As I entered the chapel and saw all of my supportive family there, the emotions overwhelmed me. I knew I would feel some love, but it was tremendous love in the nearly five rows of middle pews that our blessing party filled. Andy gave a beautiful blessing (after the sacrament, which is not customary, but fine) with Great-Grandpa Al Knight (D.O.), Grandpa Knight, Grandpa Stayner, Uncle John, Uncle Alex, Uncle Josh, and JB Taylor (who, along with Chip, the kids think is their Uncle). It was just perfect. I kind of stressed about bearing my testimony, even though Andy said it was not necessary for the Mother to do so, but since I had stressed about it I might as well. So I got up as soon as I could and raced up there. I still blubbered through the whole thing (AK's worst nightmare), but tried to be as brief as possible. Grandpa Steve gave his awesome and very eloquent testimony, as well as darling D.O. That was so awesome and special. The breakfast was fatty, fatty with the sausage casserole that Gma and Gpa Stayner put together the night before and Mary Sue's amazing cinnamon rolls. We tried to healthy it up with OJ, fruit, and my idea for the kids, yogurt, granola and berries. It was great and Penelope loved it. Oh did I mention she slept beautifully throughout the whole blessing. During our hectic morning, she was left crying for 15 or so minutes while AK and I got dressed, which I think was great because she was quite worn out when I nursed her to sleep in the mv in the parking lot and into Daddy's arms. I can't wait for the pictures so you can see her with her beautiful dress ala Amanda Creer, and her darling bonnet. My favorite will be the four generation pictures, the aunts and grandma's surrounding and fawning over Penelope, and the group at the church. Thank you for all that were there and supported us and those that couldn't be with us but know you were in our hearts and we miss and love you too (Nally, Stayner, Phelps, Tyler, Jesse Knights, Robert, & all of AK and my Aunts, Uncles, & cousins that we love dearly).

What a beautiful day for a beautiful family. I wish we could have been there. We love you all so very much. My heart is so grateful that we have husbands who honor their priesthood and can bless their little ones. What a wonderful blessing.

Why am I surprised that it made me cry...very happy tears. That precious baby is so beautiful. It was a very memorable occasion. I'll try to get the photos to you ASAP. Loves. Baby blessings are yummy occasions, aren't they? Hope you don't mind a comment from a stranger, I just linked my way over here and couldn't help but notice that we've got similar tastes (according to your favorite places/stores, etc. list on the side of your blog,) I hardly ever meet anyone who even knows what Boden is, let alone has a link to it on their blog. Thought that deserved a shout out.
