Scones, Caramel Popcorn, & Wassail

Dude, need I say more! Without a picture, I will say more. What a day. I got to be at school and help out with the first grade homework bit for a bit. Then headed home for P's nap and some great breakfast clean-up and peace and re-grouping/week planning. Then off to pick-up darling O. Then off to the Cannery to pick up some jams and jellies I "earned" a ticket to buy by working a few weeks ago. After that, off to visit awesome Allie and her adorable girls and the old Farmington 'hood and have lunch and catch up. Returning home to nap sleepy P again and get O in his skeleton costume (which is quite tight, and he has been talking about wearing the dragon, which I think was Jake's?, we love having a dress-up/costume stash). Tried for a little reading/rest time, denied by a darling skeleton. Then started making the Wassail and Scone dough and going a little crazy once H got home, after finishing homework and running about with O doing everything but keep quiet for P's napping so I locked them outside. It was a beautiful day, and they aren't appreciating it and I needed the peace and quiet. It last for like 5 minutes, before they were banging on the door and ringing the door bell, I opened, they dropped in their masks, and then ran out again. I didn't have to lock the door again, and just watched them play out front and be creative and hilarious and boys (throwing the decor sticky eyeballs on the porch roof over and over, talking about E.T., Star Wars, wishing their were more leaves to jump in). I cursed the very sticky scone dough, and kept adding flour (Andy informed me as I complained later that it was supposed to be sticky). Andy got home at some point, took over and I zoned out for a few minutes, ate dinner, and fed P. Liz and the gang came over for FHE, did a little lesson, put P down for the night, carved some pumpkin, and ate up Liz' unbeatable caramel popcorn, AK's scones and the wassail. Delivered extra scones to the neighbors. Clean-up. Books for the kiddos. JL B&W Event conversation/planning. A little Corpse Bride with AK and off to bed. A day in the life.

We LOVED being guests at the Knight family FHE - we will be reciprocating the invite soon. I am considering going on an all scone, all the time diet. So I will need some lessons on making them, as I will be subsisting solely on them. =) To DIE for! Thanks again for the fun evening!
