Please Share Favorite Work Out Songs

It's all about me right? I hope you agree. I had to love myself first right, check. No problem with that here. Maybe a little much. So lately, I've been trying to show myself some love by getting into shape, washing my face at night (although I am going through a serious breakout right now, can you say STRESS!), and at least thinking seriously about getting back into yoga. I am on full scale 1/2 marathon and 3/4 scale triathlon training right now. Back to the summer morning bike rides (yeah SP) and this week the evening 2nd grader and Mommy rides (look for emails ladies!). Back to weights and even a pilates class this morning. Will I get the nutrition in gear soon? Who knows. I just get so bored running, and I've been getting eye bug allergy contacts every time I ride or run outside (everyday!). So having to be inside on the treadmill is so boring. Oh, so here's a good question. What are your favorite work out tunes? Those that you hear over and over and seem to put a spring in your step (or run, or pedal). I need to update the shuffle (as you are about to see).

My Top 10 Favorite Pump me up tunes currently on my shuffle
1. Foo Fighters - All My Life (It makes me turn on the speed)
2. Green Day - American Idiot or entire Dookie album (I run and drum to this the most)
3. Guns N Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine (Great climbing song, endurance! and another run and drum song)
4. Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song
5. Primus - Tommy the Cat (another run and drum song, you can help but boogie to this one)
6. Ricky Churches (aka Enrique Iglesias) - Escape
7.
AC/DC - Thunderstuck (trendy, I know)
8.
Timbaland - The Way I Are
9.
Michael Jackson - Don't Stop Til You Get Enough (You just might catch me laughing and/or singing aloud to this one)
10. The Killers - When You Were Young

Wow, I feel intimidated following up that mega comment by Rachel, but here is my wimpy list. :)

"Grace Kelly" -- Mika (ALWAYS makes me happy, too)

"Gonna Buy Me a Dog" -- the Monkees

"Accidentally in Love" -- Counting Crows

Almost any song from the "Walk the Line" CD (especially "It Aint Me Babe" and "Ring of Fire")

"I Want You Back" -- Jackson 5 (seriously, so fun)

"Say My Name" -- Destiny's Child

There's some for you. Most of these for ME are CLEANING motivating songs (because I hate it) but they would get your running moving, too. Especially Mika. Love you!

I have alot of the above on mine too. If you're anything like me, you have to switch it up often because it loses it's "pump me up" effect. So the new one's I've found this past month are Eskimo Joe, Republic Tigers, Ferraby Lionheart, Air Traffic, Dido, A Fine Frenzy (Some of the more up beat ones), THE KOOKS!, Men at Work (not new of course, but always great), Pink.

Thanks for sharing yours. I posted this question on my blog a few months back and no one had anything to say. NOTHING!!

PROMISE - EVE 6
(This was my "power song" I jumped to when I was doing my half marathons. The pace was perfect for me to push through hills.

A few others I always seem to keep on my list that get me dancing/running! :) I like to mix up the pace of songs and often jump through if the song isn't the right pace at the moment.

I gotta get running again. You're inspiring me--and so is RACHEL's LIST! What's on your list, Boo?

The Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani
Inside Out - Eve 6
Have a Nice Day - Bon Jovi
Yeah - Timbaland
Buttons - Pussycat Dolls
Everywhere - Michelle Branch
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
I'm just a Girl - No Doubt
Bubbly - Colbie Caillat
Complicated - Avril Lavigne
Academia - Sia
Playground - Sia
Sorry - Madonna
Hung Up - Madonna
Any Man of Mine - Shania Twain
4 Minutes - Madonna

I'm soooo old. I didn't recognize any of your songs but recognized a couple of Rachel's (Send Me On My Way is one of my favorites). Since I don't have an iPod or any such thing I'm just "in my head" during my walks, working out "situations" in RS, family, housework etc. It's really a good and creative time for me.

Oh, and have you looked at the workout mixes at itunes? Theirs are pretty good. And you know how when you click on an album you like, it will say to the right of it "people that bought this also bought...." and it will list a few others. That's how I find alot of my workout stuff. Just follow that string of endless suggestions.

Hi! I just found your blog through Pioneer Woman and thought I'd say hi. I read a few of your posts and just wanted to tell you that I can totally relate to your pre-birthday blase' I'll be 33 this year too and I am not really excited for that change. I hope you had a great day though.

Also, your comment about "Hall Class" made me laugh. My baby turns 1 next week and I am looking forward to Hall Class for another 6 months. I love the day when they turn 18 mos!!!

Anyway, I thought I'd share one of my fav work out songs. Pretty much anything by Daft Punk, but my most fav is called Harder, Faster, Stronger. It gets you going when you feel like you can't go on!

Great blog! I'll be back. :)
